Very friendly efficient service
I applied for my new Passport in February 2019 already. We are now in August. I sent numerous e-mails requesting an update, without a single response. Phoning the Embassy also does not help. I need my Passport to do my work. This is becoming a critical situation for me. I will be waiting 7 months for my Passport this month. IT IS PATHETIC!
I went there to renew my passport and apply for citizenship for my two children. Lots of form work and things to complete. The person helping us was amazing - very informed, super helpful, and flexible. I was very impressed. Documents do take a long time to arrive, but this was not the fault of the embassy as everything is issued in South Africa and then couriered over.
WORST EMBASSY EVER. It is unbelievable how bad their service is. We waited for almost 2 months for our visas to be issued. I phoned them about 15 times, nobody is willing to help you. E-Mails are ignored. At the end we had to pick it up 3 days before our flight (which was only possible because of the pressure we made and because we travelled to Bern). The whole process cost us a lot of nerves. The people who work on the embassy are just rude and completely incompetent, not even willing to help you in any way. It is a shame for the South African State to have such a bad presentation of their country. Why don't you employ people who are competent and willing to work? There are more than enough of these.
