Good food with amazing view over the city of Lucerne

Château Gütsch is one of those hotels that make Switzerland Switzerland. It is a castle on a hill with breath taking views of Lucern, the lake, and the surrounding mountains. The terrace is lovely. We only dropped in for an afternoon coffee but were treated like VIPs. Rumor has it that the bar is the best bar in Lucern.
Superb location, easy to reach by walking through the forests that lead up to the hotel.
Food was great as well as the service. The restaurant has a very nice view of Lucerne.
Service here, as you will read in many of the comments, has been less than mediocre. With the exception of Ms Spieckermann, none of the people there have been at all helpful. In no way am I saying these are bad people, just incompetent thus far in my ongoing experience. I hope to be proved wrong in the future. But a word of caution for the foreign traveler - be careful.
The bar is absolutely gorgeous and the drinks wow. I wasn't impressed with the food but the service is great too.
This place is so cool! A chateau/hotel since 1859 and on top of Lucerne! The views are unbelievable, the service is fantastic, rooms are super interesting, showers are incredible, beds & pillows comfortable, and the whole experience is magical. For those who are considering spending the extra money to stay here...spend it! It is well worth it!
