Great place for a very nice lunch! But in the evening? it's a whole other game! Great variety (and more to come), great quality, tasty, authentic, fresh and definitely cooked with passion and intention to please! Very reasonably priced for what you get! Highly recommended!

When we heard that a proper Izakaya was going to open in Basel, we knew we had to go and taste the food! And to cut a long story short: we absolutely loved it! Toru and his team created a beautiful izakaya, very original and with absolutely amazing real Izakaya style food and dishes! My wife and I met in Japan and Tokyo will always have a special place I our hearts, so coming to Miake brought back a lot of memories of all the places we visited, all foods we ate and all the drinks we enjoyed! The food is original and tastes as we remember it from Izakayas. Clearly all fresh ingredients and beautifully prepared. Oishi! Next to Japanese beers, there is also a great choice of Japanese Sake and Whiskey We can only recommend wholeheartedly this little gem, if you love Isakaya-style Japanese food and drinks you will love your evening! We know we will be back, the Shabu-Shabu is already calling my name Arigato gozaimasu Toru!

Finally a real Japanese Restaurant in Basel! The food is absolutely delicious and authentic. The japanese staff welcomes you with the typical \irasshaimase\. If you've been to Japan eating here will definitely trigger a lot of memories. Good value for money. Set menus for lunch, à la carte during dinner. One of my favorites is the eggplant dish asu miake\.
