This is one of the best chocolate brands in Switzerland with several locations (including the airport!). Conveniently located in the Bahnhofstrasse although a bit hard to find as there are several shops and levels. While you can get the prepackaged chocolate pieces, I prefer asking for pieces of the large blocks of chocolate for them to package for you so you can select your favorites as it is not cheap.

They make my wife really happy. Only major complaint is when I buy assorted chocolates I don’t have a catalog with pictures to know ahead of time what I’m about to choose from my Läderach 72 piece chocolate assortments. I use a third party catalog of a chocolatier broker that imports from a variety of gourmet chocolate makers around the world, however not all the Läderach chocolates are depicted in their catalog and the catalog is outdated. I don’t need that much mystery, the taste is mystifying enough. I have tasted many fine chocolates, from a number of chocolatiers around the world, can’t say I have a favorite but Läderach does not disappoint. Some of the limited edition chocolates are also quite impressive. I have my own preferences and Läderach offers a sufficient variety to cater to those who prefer fruity chocolates, pralines, truffles, nutty, dark, simple or complex layering of flavors, spices and textures.

This is one of several branches throughout Switzerland. It is visited by tourists but also Swiss folks (like me). Prices might appear high at first, but compared to factory-made chocolate it is definitely worth the extra buck. They have nice Pralinés (with and without boxes) and other chocolate-related products. But we always come here for the chunks of fresh chocolate. Even though at first we weren't much into dark chocolate, that changed after trying some of these products here. They just taste different (and better) than their famous counterparts from Lindt / Cailler etc. Some of our favorites are the white \Glacier\, the \Florentiner Milch\ and the \Honig Milch\. But the dark ones are somewhat the best. We love the \Orange Mandel\, \Grand Cru Brasil\, \Cabruca Baumnuss\ and the lovely fruity \Brombeer Dunkel\. All good stuff. You can ask for some samples if you're not sure and ask nicely. You can get it by weight or also in a nice tin can, stays fresher that way. Since their standard is equally high in any of their branches it doesn't matter you buy them here in Zurich, in Lucerne or wherever. Highly recommended. As a souvenir, as a gift....or just to treat yourself :)

Some expensive chocolate. My trip to Zurich never ends till I stop here. My fav is the hazelnut dark chocolate. The nuts are roasted perfectly, not over done not under done... the crunch with the nutty flavor all melts in your mouth with a silky chocolate wrap. Excellent! If you are not sure what to get, there is the variety pack. I have found a couple of flavors that are quite lovely but I am settled on my hazelnut ones. If you like truffles, a little box will never hurt too bad. They are all handmade and exquisite! I can’t remember what I got last time all I remember is they lasted too short. Hahaha Happy eating.

This hill is not for snowboarders. Too many flat trails. When we were there, the fog was very thick in the morning, we could see about 12 inches in front of us. It was better in the afternoon.

This is a really upscale chocolate shop. You're going to spend a pretty penny here. The shopkeeper is very helpful in picking out items and describing them. The chocolate is quite expensive, but tasty. Probably a good idea to purchase while you're here.
