SAO Association runs two day centres for vulnerable displaced women in Greece (Lesvos, Athens). Especially vulnerable, displaced single women and mothers who are among the most vulnerable claiming asylum in Greece are registered in these two daycentres. The focus of the two Centres, Bashira on Lesvos and Amina in Athens, is to assist women to feel and act as empowered actors in their host communities. We provide psychosocial support through all activities offered by the centres as well as access to information, assistance in rebuilding a support network, and various community building services. Furthermore, we are in partnership with qualified organisations who focus in the areas of health, legal and vocational support.
