Nice place if you want to see the whole history of Zug.

Well you might be interested to have a look if you are local in Zug. As a tourist this place might be on little low side. Do check for additional temporary exhibition they host sometimes.
Fantastically well maintained small castle with a nice museum. From top floor very nice view over the old part of Zug and the lake. Museum has quite some things to do and try for kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The castle also offers birthday parties arrangements for kids age 6 and above (but probably only in German).
Small historical Museum in the old castle of Zug located in the old town. Their permanent exhibition shows a lot of Zug's history and treasures. The actual changing exhibition ( until January 2020) explains the period of the cold war and that's why you can see in the castle yard an old, demilitarized Bloodhound Missile from Swiss Air Force.
Amazingly beautiful building, looks as taken from a local \fairy tale\!
This was such a fun museum to go through. They had many hands on activities for children to do from smelling spices and guessing what they were to trying on chain mail armor. The children were given a booklet to help guide us through the museum that matched icons in the room so they could flip through and find the card to read. The information displayed wasn't in English, but the booklet given to the children was so we were easily able to figure out what was on display. You did need to check your bag in a locker.
Great museum with lots medieval artifacts. Descriptions in German only, but you can ask for a printed guide in other languages.
Great staff, very interesting expositions
