I would have to give 5 out of 5. We came here with some friends and I was very much impressed by this place. I’ve been coming to Basel for 3 years now and it was the first time going in. It always is full but didn’t find the occasion to go in. Happy I did this time. You order at the counter and take your drink from the entrance. We went for the Manhattan and the Dirty Harry. You have a choice of how well you want your beef patty to be cooked, rare, medium rare or well done. It was cooked exactly the way we wanted it, so that’s a big plus. The burger size is pretty big so it can definitely fill you hungry stomach, also if you get the menu and go for the fries it will be more than enough. The prices for the burgers or menu are really okay, not so expensive. The staff is also friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. It might be difficult to get a table but if you don’t succeed they offer take away also.

We visited a sunny day sitting outside. The place is clean and well looked after. The menu is good with many options. Notice that there is no deserts to choose. The Manhattan burger was perfect, meat was medium-- which may be on the rawer side for some. The sweet potatoes were very tasty with spices (rosemary I believe). Union dinner can be very much recommend for a burger meal.
There are other better places in the area. Pancakes and American Breakfast are just average.
We spent the afternoon at the Basel town square and found this diner. Ordering is done at the counter and we had the Manhattan and the chicken burger. You have a choice of how well you want your patty to be cooked, medium rare or well done. Burger size comes in adult and junior size which is just right if you want to small bite. Worth coming back again
We were a group of three guys and went on a Wednesday, so there were many tables free. I can't really comment if you need to make a reservation on the weekend. My order was the Kimchi Burger with a vegetarian patty and some sweet potato fries. As a drink I took a Trade Island Pomegranate Iced Tea, which is was very good but sadly not a menu drink so i needed to pay a little more for it. The burger was very juicy and safe to say I would order the same one a second time. I also took a bite from my friends The Godfather Burger with mozzarella di bufala and balsamic, it was interesting but we agreed that the Kimchi burger is better. The second friend took a Beef burger and he said the meat was also very good. Both friends went with the normal fries, but the sweet potato fries were crispier. All in all a very good visit with a great atmosphere.
Honestly the hamburger are good, the fact is that the service is slow. So good place if you have time to wait.
Without a doubt the best burgers in Basel but they are just so expensive!
