Just successfully finished my RAID advanced certification with Martin. I can highly recommend him as an instructor and RAID as a dive training organisation. Martin has a calm and patient way of explaining things and makes sure you not just memorize the theory from the course material but really start to see on your own the reasons behind doing things a certain way. He won't go easy on you though. But that's exactly why I will recommend him to everyone interested in gaining more confidence in their scuba diving skills. He is not interested in just sticking to the course syllabus and handing you over a new certification card at the end of the course despite of having doubts about your skills. Instead he prepares you to be safe under water. If you're planning on just getting certified before going on vacation you're probably better off signing up for a class in a red sea or Bahamas resort. Although learning to scuba dive from an experienced cave diver is probably the best way to start a scuba diving career. Before attending his courses I had been diving with 8-10Kg of weights with normal gear (drysuit and wetsuit). I now dive with 3-4Kg of weights and do everything by hovering. Martin can't magically transform you from a newby diver into a master diver. But he will make sure to lay the basis so you can eventually get there on your own
