Nice looking tower at the edge of old town and small park. There are nice paths going down to the close by stream.

One of the nice and historical place in beautiful city of Basel. This is one of the three old gate for the entrance of the city. You can walk through the door. There is no entry fees, it's free. There is also a park nearby where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Nice place to visit.
Beautiful historical tower with a small kinder park
Quite the local historical landmark, close by the Rhein so makes for a nice detour or walk objective. Dog friendly in most of the small park and in other part quite children friendly for what I could see
Nice place to visit, right next to the Rhein river and a small park
This is an historic site for Basel, one of the three gates that used to be part of the city wall. The gate has been preserved very nicely, and you can just walk right through it. It's free. There are also park benches nearby, and a papermill down the street (make sure to visit that too).
The old gateway to the city still has its large wooden door and the heavy paling that was let down in times of danger to bar the entrance to the city. The St. Alban-Tor, known locally as the “Dalbedoor”, is now the gateway to the St. Alban quarter of the city, which, with its narrow, winding streets and historical buildings, is like stepping back in history to the Middle Ages.
Nice tower and nice walking around it. One can truly enjoy the historic atmosphere of Basel here, and rest and be left to one’s thoughts. The green park around it was very nice and neat and great to walk through. Definitely a place to stop by if you are in Basel and have time!
