Great place in the heart of Lausanne city. Seem like a lot of gatherings takes place on this square. More commercial streets around but still keeps a cool look with minimum of commercials and logos.

I caught métro line 2 from the main station. 2 stops and then as I walked to the Cathedral I found this place by coincidence as it was not part of my places to visit. It was a crowded place because a lot of people were selling vegetables, cheese and many other things. (Guess Saturdays are \market days\). Very picturesque.
Weekend market takes place here - center of the center Lausanne.
The heart of the old town... bustling with small, local as well as international brands.. quite busy during the day.. many cafe and bars around to just sit and relax
Lovely, picturesque, charming little square. Usually very busy, especially on the usual market days ie Wednesdays and Saturdays. One of my favourite live webcam views .. except right now when they've blocked the view again! This time with Swiss flag on a canopy!! I hate it when they do that. For I have no idea how long it will last and so I have to delete Lausanne from my playlist of over 1600 workings live webcams which are not silly enough to obstruct the view that promotes their city's best feature. Whoever is responsible for the Lausanne webcam obviously has no consideration or regard for the square's frustrated online fans around the world. Please think, before you act and annoy potential visitors to your beautiful city. .

A must see if visiting Lausanne. Best during Saturday or Wednesday morning markets.
Beautiful fountain but nothing else too special about this place. In general Lausanne is a wonderful city.
