It was fun! We had the last boat trip, time slot 17h20, where the captain sailed like 3 times close to the waterfall . Good to know: we were on the side of 'Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall' with a lot of rocky stairs. These stairs may leave you with some muscle pain in your calves the day after (free leg day, haha)!

EDITED AFTER VISITING: We went to Rheinfall and saw that indeed none of the passengers in the boats were wearing masks. Very glad that we chose to skip this part of our trip! Plus, you can very easily go up to the falls yourself by visiting the castle - it's 10 CHF cheaper and you have as much time as you want to look at the view! -------- We were very excited to visit Rheinfall and to go on this tour, but unfortunately the terrible customer service has convinced us to reconsider. We are very careful about traveling during COVID and take every precaution to ensure that we do not contribute to the spread of this disease. I saw some reviews stating that COVID safety was not being adequately observed. Concerned, I reached out to the company to confirm. Their response was rude and basically consisted of \look on our website.\ I told them I did, but did not find an answer to my question - specifically, are the boats at full capacity. They refused to answer my question, were demeaning and belittling in their responses, and eventually just told me to not visit Rheinfall if I was worried about COVID. There was no reason to be so rude. In fact, they should be happy that potential guests are doing everything they can to keep other guests healthy and safe. We will still of course be visiting Rheinfall (with our masks and observing social distancing!). We just won't be visiting their boat tour.

Rhine river waterfalls or Rhinefall. Schaffhausen , where Rhine river takes zig-zag course and falls off a rock. excellent view of the river and near by castles on the mountain. I enjoyed my trip to that place on 5/5/2019 along with my family and friends. Do not miss it. take pictures from a cliff .
Super good experience. The 15min tour is only 7 CHF with river crossing included. If you compare this to the 5 CHF entry fee for the castle then it’s clear what to choose! We drove very close to waterfall several times which makes you see beautiful rainbows. The boats run in regular intervals and staff is super friendly.

Beautiful waterfall, well maintained. There is a ticket for the boat ride to go near the water falls and get the view from the top. The steps are very narrow, at a time only 2 people can walk up. Its worth the walk to get the glimpse of the water falls and the full view. The sound of nature creates beautiful music. For nature lovers and photographers you can keep clicking and looking at the falls for hours. Minimum you need one hour.
