Just a pity that the interior was closed due to renovation and opened one day later on 2 April. Never mind.... an excuse to visit again. I am told that the acoustics within are amazing.

Amazing that there are the 2000 year old ruins of a Roman amphitheater here. It is being reconstructed and should be nice once completed.

Martigny is a little treasure at the bend in the Rhone. The Amphitheater, St Bernard Museum and Gianadda Museum are amazing. Giannada's Gallo-Roman collection, rotating exhibits, and sculpture garden and antique car collections are fabulous.
