Nice museum explaining the history of absinthe - how it is made, how it is served, and also the politics behind it. I definitely learned something new today! The visit is also special since it is in the charming town of Môtiers, which is in the Val-de-Travers valley where absinthe originates from. The museum exhibits are only in French and German, however there is a short explanatory film at the beginning with English subtitles. At the end of the museum visit we were able to try 3 different kinds of absinthe - 2 clear and one green. Our server spoke English and explained the process to mix the water and sugar with the absinthe to make the drink. The museum has a nice terrace where you can sit amidst the absinthe herbs and enjoy a drink on a sunny day.

Super interesting Museum built in the former Justice Court that used to condemn illegal Absinthe Producers :) You'll discover not only the history, but also the mythology around green Fairy as well as the preparation secrets. The triple degustation at the end is a must!
It was really informative and I generally liked the layout and everything. It's just a bit expensive.
We have enjoyed the visit!!! We will come back with friends!
A really cozy and interesting museum about a very interesting chapter of Swiss culture! I highly recommend this museum.
A second visit and again impressed by this modern, very impressive museum in a lovely, romantic surrounding
Great to try legit absinthe in the home town
A very well presented museum and great selection of absinthe. Staff were very helpful and friendly . The only downside was the lack of English information on the displays (only French and German) - film clips did have English subtitles.
