UPCOMING FILM MAKERS - «breaking new talent in film since 1985» Since 1985, as the second oldest of its kind and third oldest short film festival in Switzerland, UPCOMING FILM MAKERS supports young talented aspiring filmmakers in Switzerland. The festival and its platform has served many now renown filmmakers with national and international success and recognition as an early stepping stone in their careers. This year's festival edition will take place on Saturday, the 22nd of September 2018 at the Bourbaki Cinema in Lucerne, and will offer a compelling film program rich in variety, a fascinating and insightful podium talk and Q&A with Academy Award nominated filmmakers, as well as the awards ceremony with the Lucerne Film Prize, Lucerne's Young Talent Award, and various special prizes named by the prestigious festival jury including prize money of over 10'000 Swiss francs. The call for entries for film submissions for 2019 will open again in April 2019.
