Nice, simple and clean. We stayed here last minute when we got lost and it was too far to walk back to Murren. We were welcomed and had a simple meal. You have to take your rubbish, which was okay since it is so far from anything. There is no hot water or a shower, but there is a clean toilet area. Perfect for a simple nights rest.
Ah Rotstockhutte...a true home away from home in a remote area 2-4 hours out of Murren. The surroundings are beautiful, the food is great, and the bunks comfortable. I stayed here during a 4 night trek along the Via Alpina and I was trying to do it on the cheap. A bunk in the attic of Rotstockhutte not only hit the budget but was a great experience. I would suggest even making a trip out to it from Murren if someone wanted a good hike in the area. There is a beautiful lookout at a lake just a few miles back toward Murren and up a decent incline. The views are breathtaking.
This place is everything you want in a alpine cabin. Shared meals (DELICIOUS!) with fellow hikers, wonderful hospitality by the hostess and staff, and the views were fantastic.

Great place for a nice lunch after a challenging walk.
Just came here while on an epic hike to the top. It was beautiful out and I had an Apple pie of some sort that was great. I suggest you come hike here if you are in the area.
