Location great, rooms very comfortable and clean, food so so, service a little inattentive and keeping it at the minimum. Starting with the good things, the hut is in a great location. It can be used as a base for many really nice 1-day tours in the area between Jaun and Schwarzsee. The hut is clean (basically spotless) and well taken care of. The rooms are very comfortable (we spent there 2 nights). It is also very easily accessible. In fact you can even go there by car. This however also makes it all very touristy. So, if you are looking for an old cozy alpine cabin where the owners are fans of the mountains and mountaineering themselves, this is not the place for you. In the evenings, locals come there for dinner, taking the car quickly up and back down to the valley. Not sure why though. While the view is definitely amazing, the food is ok at best, quite salty and the Schnitzel is not a proper schnitzel (especially when you are expecting schnitzel Vienna style). The hosts are an oldish quite introvert couple, clearly not having any passion for what they are doing, which is a bit of a drainer in the whole experience.

Wunderschöne Gegend. Restaurant nicht besucht.
