Just tried cable car and I recommend it It is next to Jakobsbad train station

If you travel from Zürich, you need to change trains in Gossau (most likely). Make sure to push the stop button before reaching Jakobsbad because the train only stops here on request. Round trip costs 38 Francs (as of 2018). In less than 10 minutes you will have reached the top (1663 mts. high) from which you can see Lake Constance, Säntis mountain and the nearby villages. A paradise for those into hiking. Amazing landscapes!

If hiking is not an option, this is the best way to get to Kronberg. You'll find a nice cafeteria and a zipline park also here.
