Initiated in 2001, UNOSAT is as an operational, technology-intensive programme specialized in earth observation (EO) technologies. As a thriving knowledge centre in the UN family we provide innovative satellite imagery analysis and EO capacity development to the UN, International Organisations, Member States and Partners. To meet the needs of our users, the interdisciplinary UNOSAT team consists of highly specialized GIS and imagery analysts, remote sensing experts, hydrogeologists, hydrologists and geologists - supported by IT personnel and programme management. UNOSAT responds to a wide range of global challenges. By leveraging the power of technology, innovation and human talent our work contributes to more evidence-based decision making for human rights, peace, security, climate and resilience.
