With generous support from our donors, our country-based local IMPACT partners are empowered to implement life-changing projects and build capacity in their communities. IMPACT was originally set up as a partnership between several United Nations agencies, responding to the need recognized under the UN International Year of Disabled Persons, 1981. IMPACT established 13 national foundations primarily in Asia and Africa, backed by financial support from IMPACT UK and IMPACT Norway, and since 2009, IMPACT Switzerland.
