Live in New York, have a membership @ NYSC and come regularly to Basel - this is my go to gym. Staff is super friendly, awesome equipment (way better than in all NYC gyms I ever visit) and you always find a parking close to the gym. Overall a great place
A really good Gym offering all kind of fitness solution including cross fit and many classes such as Aerobics Zoomba etc.. you can check the schedule online or at gym counter. There are two squash courts as well which can be rented by non-members, I am told that those are being brought down to make more room for gym. I am giving 3 stars for the membership cost, it is on the expensive side.
This is an excellent and enormous gym minutes from the heart of Basel. There is a newly renovated main floor area, with many squat racks, bench presses, professional weights, cables, boxing, calisthenics bars. A second floor with many other weight machines as well as cardio. There is a third floor with spinning/cycles. In addition, there is a shared-gender spa area with spacious facilities including sauna. The gym is exceptionally clean, and the staff were very helpful, friendly, engaging and I really felt welcome here. My german isn't great, but that wasn't a problem. There is a 25CHF day rate which i think is an exceptional price for what you get. The gym was not busy when I went in the afternoon, and there is a professional atmosphere. If you are in Basel, and need a high quality workout, come to this gym! It has everything!
25CHF day rate / drop in covers classes, cardio and weight space. Free weights, medicine balls, bands, kettlebells, rollers, everything you could possibly need. Bring a lock for the lockers. Super clean.
I am a current long-time member of the club, and I am truly a fan. This club is great because it has a good location in a convenient part of town near to the city center. In addition to offering a variety of interesting classes, it has new and well maintained equipment. It is easy to see that the club focuses on staying up to date. Other main points for me are that the club is always clean, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. In fact, several times I was surprised about their fairness when handling sensitive issues. I would definitely recommend this gym.
Good equipment and trainers.. flexible working hours.
just wanted to share our (bad) experience there with everyone looking to join a gym in Basel. We have been members of 'Forum Sports Club' for 2 years my wife and I when we had to leave Basel in a kind of hurry for professional reasons. We sent them a cancelation notice by email first and then a written letter to resign our memberships. The email arrived before the 30 days notice require for the resignation period but the letter was 2 days late if I remember correctly. As a result they refused to acknowledge the email as an official cancelation notice and asked us to pay 2 months additional membership each, a fee for late payment and a fee for the membership cards (which are basically pieces of coated paper...). While their lack of understanding and flexibility didn't really come as a surprise, the hostility and arrogance they've shown while discussing the matter with us was very disturbing. Right from the beginning of the conversation they were menacing to sue us while using a very aggressive tone of voice; After being 2 years steady members of their gym it really was a bit of a shock. The rest of our experience there was neither pleasant or unpleasant, the staff working at the gym is not really friendly but it did not matter since we just go there to exercise… Though all in all there are many other gyms in Basel and I'd recommend to pass on that one and try some other ones for a probably more pleasant experience.
