Very stunning place! If you are in this region, it is must see!
An amazing place to go hiking, easy for people with children and also challenging for people looking for a rough trip. The parking is quite huge so I can easily get up here and it's free. You can also access the dam Vertic'Alp from Châtelard but it's a bit hefty priced. Dinosaur tracks are quite interesting for children specially in the summer thanks to the geologists and archeologists animating in front of it (explaining how it got there, evolution and such). From the tracks you can go to Col de la Terasse which has an amazing view over the old lake and the Tour's glacier. You can round trip to the dam via Chalet de la Loria but beware that the path down is super steep and kind of dangerous because of the track going through unstable ground.
Impressive! Everything is huge up there! There are many possibilities to walk around and hike. Really nice program to go there.

On 24th May the lower lake still had a few icebergs and the upper lake was still fully ice covered - on a clear day the scenery is stunning
Unbelievable beautiful views!!! But only worth if it’s a 100% clear sky so you can see the full beauty of god’s creations!! On a clear day, you can see the mont. blank etc. and also the water’s color is amazing amazing when it’s sunny
