A haven in heaven. Alpenclub was wonderful in every respect. Service great and personal. Our room was out of this world, we felt like we were in another dimension. Engelberg is itself a beauty. Thanks from happy Icelanders

We were at the Fondue Stube and had a good time. Service was good and very friendly. The fondue itself was very nice; it's prepared with cheese from the Engelberg valley so it tastes a little different from your typical fondue. The room is all wooden, very cozy. If you can, ask for a table on the main street side, the decor is nicer.
I had a wonderful dinner and view last night. It started with Gravlax marinated with Sichuan pepper and orange, garnished with sweet and sour pickled mango, wasabi mayo and salmon roe. Swiss Cheese Fondue with Sausage I would very much recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Engelberg. Alpenclub was built 1780. Started as a restaurant in 1875. Became Switzerland’s first discotheque in the 1950s.
