Beautiful hotel with a long history being a sanitarium back in the days. The hotel is nicely kept up to date, the rooms have received an update, too. The rooms are very well isolated, noise from neighbor rooms and even upstairs was not heard. The size of the rooms are of a good size. Not huge but enough space to easily move around. Mixed experience with the reception. One (young) receptionist did a very good job, two others did not even bother to stand up and show their availability to the guests. Mixup with the "bar". There is no bar however drinks can (somehow) be ordered in the hotel own restaurant and you could enjoy a drink in the nice library. However after sitting there for 10 minutes we were unable to get any attention, even reception was unresponsive to our request to order drinks in the library. Food in the restaurant was simple, small portioned but tasted good. However the service was in such a rush, we received the salads before finishing our apero and received the main course before we finished our salad. "No time to relax and enjoy". This felt pretty disturbing. After all, beautiful old hotel and nicely kept up to date, but service and guest understanding needs to improve.

The Hotel looks superficially "pretty" and is in a good location. Balconies are a plus and breakfast was ok. However, if you are looking for good sleep stay away. The soundproofing is very poor (despite what was stated on booking.com), you can hear absolutely everything from rooms around you, and the mattresses were terrible! Evidently very poor quality or very old. Sagging was so bad there was literally a hole in the middle. They changed my mattress but the problem remained. I woke up with a broken back so I tried to leave early but I was told I would have to pay regardless. The owner was sufficiently professional, if not very helpful, while the paid staff was straight rude (2 out of three receptionists) and spoke little English (all the waiting staff and 2/3 receptionists). Parking is also insufficient, I found the a space by chance just after the staff told me to park at a supermarket at my own expense (despite the "free parking" claim). Overall, cheap but overrated.
If you want to stay in a friendly, welcoming and exceptional hotel the Hotel Edelweiss is a must! From the minute we entered the front door to the minute we left, we felt welcome and well looked after. On arrival the receptionist was extremely polite and explained everything about the hotel and COVID regulations. Traveling during these challenging times is made easier when one knows that the Corona rules and regulations are applied and followed. We booked the superior room with balcony which was amazing! The beds are comfortable and you can ask for more pillows and/or blankets, if desired. I truly recommend this room category. I would also strongly recommend the half board option, you will not regret it. The evening meal, is a 3 course set meal. If you have any dietary requirements the hotel takes these into consideration, if notified in advance. The meals were exceptional, so good that I forgot to take a photo of the chocolate mousse desert. If you are traveling with your dog you will not be disappointed. I nearly did not book this hotel because dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, which is not an option for us because our dog is part of our family. The hotel offers pet owners the option to sit with their dog in the lobby, which was great and our waiter Rene made it feel special and was very attentive. I really hope that we get the chance to visit Davos again, and if we do, we will definitely return to this hotel.
Friendly staff, clean room with great bed. Spacious parking in front of hotel. Nice breakfast, what else do you need in Davos?
Spooky - public areas are all video monitored, without consent. They track and can track who goes into which room. Hotel well refurbished, staff at times helpless and uncoordinated.
Good location, close to dining and walkable area of town.
In front of the hotel it smells like garbage. Also for 270 bucks you get a room in the basement with a view of the parked car tires in front of the windows. Of course this is not described when you book the room. The personnel is not very friendly too. So check for something else if u ask me, I doubt u can get much worse than this in Switzerland. Below is the splendid view of our room. I am really sorry I cannot attach also the smell of rotting garbage.
Perfect hotel- spoiled only by one receptionist (gingerish hair with glasses). When we asked her if there was a bus into town during WEF, she shooed us away like we were begging for money (and responded saying “how should I know? I’ve been inside working all day \u200d️) Personality issues? Plain incompetent? Who knows. Either way, I have a feeling hospitality is not her calling. Otherwise a very nice, clean and convenient hotel!
