We are staying at the Dorint hotel, in which the Cote Jardin is located. We’ve eaten here several times, with good food (fish and chips, sea bass, and various snacks) each time. But it’s the little extra touches that have earned the 5 star rating from me. They bring a small appetizer before the meal - once it was a yellow pea purée that sounds odd but was delicious - and a selection of wonderful breads. They have also gone out of their way to accommodate my many allergies, and remembered them after the first visit.

A friend and I were staying for a week at Dorint Hotel and decided to try the hotel restaurant. The server was engaging and attentive, even helping us with our German. After ordering, he brought us a \treat\ from the kitchen. A lovely taste of yellow pea puree with sour cream and prawn. Delicious!! The fish and chips were crispy and hot, also delicious. Our next dinner (yes, we went back) included a \treat\ of risotto with prawn. YUM! The Weiner Schnitzel was not my favorite, it was like chicken fried steak without gravy. But we went back oneore time during our stay. Another \treat\, this time crispy pork belly with sweet potato puree. Another superb bite of heaven. We enjoyed our stay in Basel and will stop by Cote Jardin if ever in Basel again.
Compared to the stylish decor the food was disappointing. Even though the restaurant was empty, the service was slow.
Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen!Ich finde das Restaurant zeitgemäß für allerlei Anlässen unwesentlich ob mit Mann, Bekannten oder Verwandtschaft.Das Personal hat hurtig, sauber und freundlich gearbeitet.Ich wollte den Nachtisch meist gar nicht mehr mit meinem Gefolge teilen. Wir haben für die Zukunft daraus gelernt und werden nächstes Mal pro Person eine Dessert bestellen.
Die Bedienungen sind immerzu überaus bemüht und stets verbindlich!Dieses Restaurant hat echt Potential mein nächstes Lieblingslokal zu werden.Die Tische wurden vorbildlich gereinigt und die Stühle waren überaus bequem.Ich meinerseits kann behaupten, bis jetzt hat uns noch nix bedrückt! Es war jedes Mal eine Geschmacksexplosion in meinem Mund.
Wir haben drei Wochen im Voraus reserviert, jedoch war an diesem Tag das Restaurant geschlossen. Als Entschädigung wurden uns \Snacks\ angeboten und einen Gutschein im Wert von 50 Franken, welcher nach wenigen Monaten nicht mehr gülltig war.
