The castle have several buildings, all accesible and well documented. There are pictures, comments, authentic equipment, audio guide and more. There is a small coffee shop with some desserts, but no place to have a meal. But it's close to the town with some nice places to eat. Also, there is a great boat trip nearby. So a really good place for trip.
Unfortunately we couldn’t enter the castle, as it’s closed due to the current situation till April 2021. However the surrounding area looks lovely.
Beautiful castle and very nicely kept. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. The exhibition is very interesting and kids can touch almost anything which makes it even fun to come there with young children. There aren't many stairs, so it's an easier castle to get around.
Great castle!
If you like castles then this one should be on your list. Even though it is not too big, it has very interesting things on display. Outside of the castle there are paths and also the possibility to travel by boat to other destinations.
It is a small castle. Nothing really special from outside. What pushes me off is that they charge you 3 CHF just to enter the coffee shop. Will not recommend it for a quick stop. There is a parking place just outside. If you are not a medieval freak and just a regular tourist better drive a bit longer and go to the next village.
Nice for an easy day trip from basel. A bit expensive when you visit the castle 14chf. Just the outside was 4chf. Nice area, water mill just accross the street.
