Excellent meal, classy lunch/dinning room and friendly owner. Quality of ingredients and seasonal dishes are a highlight. Stunning view and very good place for groups/weddings.

Pros: beautiful dining room (recently transformed by the new chef), super views, good service. Tasty local wine (Bursins) of our choosing. Cons: besides the amuse-bouche which was really good and decent bread, the dishes were poorly executed. Having faith based on the new chef’s career and the menu, we casted a doubt on whether the latter had a hand in preparing them: The salads were not well seasoned and toppings - famous local cold-cuts & cheese known to us - somehow dry; both meat dishes were very basic and poorly presented, potatoes were soggy and some burnt; the rolled lamb piece was rather hard and tasted off; the sea bass (pavés not whole) was tasteless unlike sea bass and accompanied by bland vegetables still drenched in water. Having recently tried the Domaine de Bonmont, Vieux Navire, and Le Chasseur - all three at a similar price-point (i.e. at roughly 70 chf p.p. before wine) - as well as some simpler local auberges, this is our first culinary disappointment in the series. In fairness, we chose not to take a dessert, so cannot judge that aspect. One cannot always be wowed but the least one could expect at this level of investment is to not think one could do a far better job cooking the same ingredients at home.
