I haven't been inside the castle and only been to the courtyard and outside park of palace. It is an impressive palace and courtyard. If you are in Brig and have 30-45 mins, take a short walk from Bahnof through the old town to the palace. It is totally worth your time. You can have a guided tour for which you will need more time. Hopefully next time, I will be able to do it.

Very nice castle from the outside with lots of history. Unfortunately very little is covered in the guided tour(this May be due to corona virus) But the inside is impressive too. A lot indoors is renovated and no longer authentic, eg the District Court rooms. Our guide Could have spoken louder! Enjoyable still

Castle is not bad. Maintenance is fair. During snow it’s not the good choice

We visited the castle today with a group of 6 and took the guided tour. The castle itself is quite large and is approximately the size of two large buildings put together with hundreds of rooms but unfortunately the one hour guided tour only gives guests limited access to view the rooms. The tour guide could be slightly louder as I struggled to hear most of what was being said a lot of the time. There is a free museum available to visit at the end of the guided tour which gives information on the history of the castle and the people who lived there. There are no family tickets for guided tours and it is not possible to view the inside of the castle without a tour guide. Guided tours are only available in Swiss German. All other languages can be found on information boards in the free museum on the ground floor near the ticket desk. Overall the experience was not too bad. I would suggest that the tour contains a range of different places in the castle, for example chambers, bedrooms, modern day conference rooms, etc and not just the most commonly used rooms of the castle.

Theres no entrance fee, you can just walk in the garden or the court of the palace. Its clean and was preserved well. If you want to get inside the palace and do the passage tour, you need to make an appointment and pay the fee. I just saw the tour on the flyer but theres no place to buy it in the castle area, probably you need to bookit online or inthe hotel .
