Best spot in Basel for a nice home made meal. The owners were super friendly and offered some food to us while we were waiting for our order. We had a student discount free bread and some cookies for dessert. The botanical garden is few meters away and it’s the perfect spot to eat the food.

Family-run and charming. Best sandwich in Basel is the Pastrami. They also have lasagne and eggplant parmigiana. Takeout only.
The best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had and the gelato is simply delicious. This place is as popular as the owner. If you lucky to find his mom when you visit, you might learn some Italian words. The old lady is very friendly, kind and welcoming.

Very genuine (south) Italian food here, the lasagna is just as good as my mom's (don't ever tell my mom I said that)
I like the dark fluffy bread with salty pastrami, mustard. But most of all, the contrast with sweet pickle was the best after intense taste and the price at 10 CHF for a tasty warm meal for 10 CHF was great, which is rare in Basel. It is equivalent or cheaper than McDonald's burger. highly recommend this place
I had a sandwich with mozzarella, tomatoes and other veggies for 7-8 chf. It was the best I've ever eaten. I'd come back to Basel just for it (yes I was that impressed). Service was very friendly, professional and quick! Thank you Antonio and his Mama!
