Great service! Great selection! I needed a recommendation for a dinner wine-pairing and went to Paul Ullrich for the first time since arriving in Basel. I wanted a good local wine but have limited knowledge about the region. Terrific service in 3 languages. The consultant allowed me to practice my German, even though I was probably butchering it! Highly recommended wine and liquor store. I will be back. Thanks for the help! The wine was a success. Cheers!

Excellent shop (as well as their other place near Marktplatz). The real difference is the expert service, these guys know their beers and spirits very, very well. Not sure on the wine side as I'm usually buying other stuff (you can only get so much in the car!) but if you are interested in whisky or rum then this is the place to be. One very slight criticism; like a lot of shops they are now very big on IPA and (it seems to me) that some of the more obscure beers have been dropped to accommodate all the versions of IPA. Nothing against IPA but I do miss some of the old favourites ...
