Connecting the old town and new town this brige is a must-do. The bridge itself isn't that special, but the views from here are. Checking out the Rhein River and its shores is quite the nice thing to do. Besides that it's the great view of the old town you have from here. The skyline of Old Town Basel is quite a sight to behold, especially with the Münster sitting on top of the Hill. For that only it's worth the short walk to this bridge. The New Town on the other side offers lots of shops and restaurants, but the important sights are on the old town side.
It is a fantastic bridge over the River Rhine. You should definitely see it. Don't forget to cross the other side with the boats waiting there. In return, you can pass over the bridge. The boats are not very expensive when it is compared with the fact that Switzerland is too expensive place.
