The museum is free and they do have a guide book in English to go through the museum with, you just have to ask. Cash (Swiss Francs) only for the gift shop.

This was the most surprising museum I visited in my one month eurotrip. It has a very impressive collection and is extremely thorough and well made, and ever has free admittance.
