Easy to get to from Andermatt or parking right there (limited spaces). Also there is a huge russian carving in the rock face from a war years ago. I didn't realise there was so much history when I set off for a hike. Well worth a visit. There's also a restaurant up there but it was closed when I visited in October.

Hard to imagine that the first bridge was built in the year 1200 and that a battle between the French and Russian armies was fought over the bridge (Who knew) You can visit a monument on the cliff that commemorates this episode in history. The current bridge is amazing and worthwhile the visit.

Nice stop to take picture of old road and bridge below the new bridge. With a waterfal.
Beautiful place. You have to stop here on your way to south. Beware no public toilet. Use the gotthard raststaette!
