This free museum is absolutely stunning! There is an excellent collection of minerals, and there are exhibits that alternate. Much of the materials are in Swiss German, but they're not hard to figure out. Expect to spend at least an hour or two here to check out all of the features.

Great museum, currently with fantastic exhibition about Mars and solar system.

I simply love this place. A lot of information put in the form of comics, videos, on the walls. Highly recommended. And for free

In an expensive city like Zurich free attractions like this are key! The museum is a fun way to spend a couple hours with various interactive exhibits and plenty more less interactive ones. I do have a couple complaints however. There is a decent amount of English in the place but many of the video and exhibits are German only. Also we were disappointed to learn that you can only get in the earthquake simulator during certain times on Sunday. Also the bathroom doors are very poorly designed and must be pushed to open...don't get tricked into thinking they are all locked as was the case for my girlfriend. Overall a worthwhile experience.

Free museum which is attached to the university, so you'll be intermingling with students going about their day. Fairly interesting exhibits covering archaeology, geology, astronomy and so on. Many descriptions are in German only. Kept my 6 year old more interested than many other museums.

Very interesting exposition, we spent there much more time than we expected (2.5 hours).

Overall pretty good, but depends strongly on the current exhibition. Mining and economic geology exhibition was great, the one with the posters introducing different research groups a bit less exciting.
