Worth the stop over! Bit steep of a climb but lovely views! Signs and directions aren’t super clear from Flums train station but follow Google’s directions and you’ll find it!

Situated at 150 meters above the village of Berschis, this former Roman fortification and later, mediaeval castle affords the visitor breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside. If you telephone the tourist office in advance, you can take a key with you in order to gain entry to the chapel. Once inside you will notice that there is no lighting, so the shutters may have to be opened. It also has a double Nave which is very unusual for this type of chapel and there are beautiful frescoes dating back to the 12th century. Be warned though that it is a 20 minutes to half an hour hike from the town up to the chapel and it is very steep. Be prepared to stop often to catch your breath. No problem for the younger folk though! :)

Schöner Ort zum eine Auszeit von der hecktig der Zivilisation zu machen. Ein Kraftort mit der Kraft über zahnweh und Kopfweh. Auch die älteste kappel von St. Gallen .
