The above is exacerbated by the rapid rate of technological innovations which requires people to continually update their technology and digital skills to equip them for emerging roles in different sectors in which they work or would like to work. At the Swiss Skills Academy (SSA), we believe international residents should have access to the tools that will help them be more competitive in the Swiss job market. Basic skills training is an important element of the Swiss Skills Academy’s commitment to supporting the economic integration of international residents. The Academy’s programme focuses on providing introductory and intermediate level modules in IT (Excel and Word), website design, creating marketing material, social media and personal branding, presentation skills and project management in order to increase the chances of adult learners to integrate into the job market. SSA ultimate aim is to provide practical courses while supporting the process of building a network of mentors, entrepreneurs, and peers that will remain in contact for years to come. We will achieve this by building on the synergies between our courses and ongoing programmes organised by our key partners and ensuring participants in the modules are connected to a wider network of international residents and locals.
