Exemplary in telling the story of the foundations of Switzerland: replacing medieval feuding with a body of law, and installing a new local authority, in places where central authority was weak and ineffective. There is a parallel here with the work of Vadim Volkov on 1990s Russia and Diego Gambetta's work on Sicily. It also debunks some myths (Wilhelm Tell!) in the process.

Clever permanent exhibtion about the creation of the confederation, also with attention to broader developments in EU at that time.

Although there too much of empty spaces I recommend to visit that museum because it possesses some very unique artifacts. Among sich artifacts are the shield mide in beginning of XIII century, bassinet helmet of the end of XIV century, excellent collection of the halberds made in XV century and some others. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod.
