Friendly staff, exhibit mainly 1500-1600s European paintings. Amazing place but would be better if there are English translation in the descriptions.

Nice modern museum, good openings.. good expos, I wish more young people would show up at the openings and the crowd would be younger. The museum itself is a must see in St. Gallen it's in the cultural district and the Swiss people like their museums ( in this small city such a big museum)

A fantastic museum and art gallery... snall but what quality! They have a wonderful collection of Dutch masters, and a brilliantly curated collection of Impressionists including three cracking Monets, not to mention a Pissaro. The gallery at the end has a stunning collection of Hodler... for those who havn't met Switzerland's leading artist (which, for my sins, I hadn't), spend an hour there and wonder at an artist who could produce mouthwatering landscapes and human studies, in both realistic and impressionist styles, with equal aplomb. Upstairs is a small but powerful modern art gallery, including submissions by local artists. I can really reccomend a visit... and I should say I have no connection with the museum.
