Beautiful place loved my stay there. Nice staff. Lots of nice views and fresh air. Not too far from the city, a walking distance. And games to have fun if you have the time.

We stayed there for one night and we were not satisfied about our stay.We arrived at around 8.00 pm and had some difficulty in finding the place as it was hidden among the trees.The door was closed and we had to wait for some time until we got the attention of someone at the reception.The room provided was very small and we could hardly move.There was no washroom for our floor and we had to go upstairs for that.Breakfast was not that good either.The only things that I liked about this hostel is its closeness to the Rhine falls and the friendly attitude of the guy at the reception.Though it looked kind of ghostly at night the building itself is beautiful.
All very simpel but not of bad quality. The people are nice and the breakfast is simple but fine. It's a good place to stay with a big group. The distance to the city centre is a 15 minute walk.
This is the former residence of a gentlemen painter of Schaffhausen who hosted great many contemporaries, among them Hermann Hesse as well as other prominent artists and writers of his time! Today it is an oasis of international travelers that enjoy this wonderful hostel, prices are well below the usually inflated swiss-hotel trap! Hostels are genuine alternatives if one does not shy away from sharing rooms and bathrooms with fellow travelers, mostly interesting people from all corners of the world!
