When you are walking down or up the steep staircase overlooking the rose garden you can enter the Kappuzinerkloster Rapperswil in the middle and see the graves of the buried monks and the chapel on the right. When You look around the left side of the chapel, you see the door to the public cafe and meeting place the monks have running. If you want to enter, you need to pull the iron lever there. The monks have a restaurant offering coffee and they sell candles and cards to benefit the monastery. You will have to sit in the inner hall that offers no view overlooking the lake. If there is someone sitting on the desk, mostly someone from outside and not a monk, I would ask to be lead to the veranda and be able to sit there, being able to overlook the monastery garden and the lake. The participants of silent workshops at the monastery might sit there, so I would ask the lady on the desk weather some course is taking place where people remain silent to make her understand that I will take care to not bother anyone with questions or loudness or even extravagant photo taking. This is insider information, don't spoil it for the ones coming after you. The restaurant has nice coffee and the monks might pass by the restaurant. Feel free to say hello and maybe talk to the monks too.
