Amazing place and view, pictures speak for themselves. You can go for free if you’re prepared to hike for 90 minutes upwards and same downwards. You need to have a good hiking shoes. If not willing to take the walk then you can pay for the cable car, either a single journey or return. You will have a great time.

Unprofessional stuff. When we visited we were asked to pay for the parking and the lady did not give us the token or we didn't see it, when we came down with the last funicular, we immediately realized that the token was necessary to exit the parking but nobody from the stuff was available. No one answered the help line. We ended up stuck in the parking slot.

One of the best views in Lugano. Funicular leaves every 30 minutes. Journey time approx. 12 minutes. Price of tickets: single -23 for., return - 30 fr. On the top you can find restaurant with a veranda and panoramic terrace and a picnic area. Price for cappuccino there is approximately 2-3 fr. Near the panoramic terrace are comfortable toilets. The Monte San Salvatore funicular is one of three operational funiculars within the Lugano area.

So easy to access the mountain. Monte San Salvatore is higher than the tallest mountain in my country, Wales, but made the trip up feel like it was nothing. Incredible scenery of Lugano and around the lake. Very very impressed
