Beautiful and elegant building with high quality content of all kinds, music, art exhibits and theatrical representations. I enjoy myself everytime I go.

Expensive entrance fee. There are some nice pieces here, especially a fascinating exhibition of wood cut printing, including work by Munch. What's strange is that it's a large building, with hardly any art inside it. So much wasted space. So 4 stars because of the wonderful wood cut exhibition, but there's not much more to it.

This museum is impressive! Built to command and inspire. It's big enough to take a few hours to explore and enjoy the exhibitions. 3 floors of amazing art at your disposal. Centrally located so you can take a stroll by the lake, before and after checking out the exhibits. The staff was friendly and super cool. Even to a solo traveler like myself. They speak most languages and will be courteous even when you're about to snap a photo when it's not allowed! Fun tip: if there's a concert, performance, or play you'd like to see but it's sold out, Show up 15-20 min before it begins and snag a spot from those who did not show up. This isn't free but it's worth it.

The works of Gaugin is amazing. Some areas were close during my visit. Otherwise place is so-so

Looking at this huge rectangle green building cantilevered across one side of the square, attached to the main building of the museum, architecturally amazing, looks fantastic. Huge glass wall looking out to the lake, the entrance foyer, grand open space with stairs zig zagging to the upper levels. Ticket sales, restaurant bookshop and locker,, cloak room all easily seen from the entrance. Easy to get around, and with the audio guide, makes the viewing of the gallery easy. Lately is the Picasso exhibition, just fantastic. Recommended for a great day in Lugano.
