Extremely unreliable service! I called to ask about returning a van to a different location and they said it was possible with an extra charge. Then, when picking up the vehicle, they claimes that this option was not available and never existed. I had to call the Zürich main office to have it sorted out despite the unfriendly Lausanne office.
We rented a car for 4 days. Unlimited mileage. Got a great deal, a nicer car than the one we'd actually reserved, and excellent customer service. Were able to return it in the morning of day 5 for no extra cost. We were also offered optional additional insurance at pickup for 20chf a day to have no franchise, which we took and it was automatically billed at drop-off so a really smooth experience overall.
I rented a car for three days from Hertz; we got a nice upgrade with a 2018 Fiat 500x. A few hours into the drive in Valais, a check engine warning appeared on the dashboard. After calling Hertz, they had a TCS mechanic to us within 20 minutes. He ran a full diagnostic on the car, resolved the issue (a minor warning from the engine) and relayed the information to the Lausanne Hertz office. They called soon afterwards to check if we were satisfied, and let us know that if needed we could switch the car at a nearby location in Sion if needed. Overall, the level of service was excellent, with fantastic customer care and responsiveness despite the small issue with the car. Based on the responsiveness of the staff at Hertz, I would definitely rent from this location again.
I am very disappointed by the service, on the return office was closed despite of the working hours and nobody informed in advance about the change. To leave car outside of parking impossible, as there are no parking nearby, phone was switched off. Also the charges for petrol were written off, despite of the fact that I returned with full tank of fuel and it was even more than it was upon the receipt of car. Will never use them again!
I would not recommend Hertz car rental. We had a rental car from this location for 2 months as part of my work relocation package. We received a speeding ticket, as if that wasn't bad enough, Hertz charges an additional 49 CHF as an \administrative fee\. They don't even tell you in advance, either - they just charge your credit card on file without authorization. I really feel this is an exorbitant and unnecessary fee. The price of the car rental was high enough, as it is. Then, upon returning the car, there was a scratch on the tire rim. The charge of 430 CHF plus other administrative fees on top of it is ridiculously high for a scratch. It's also the additional administrative fees that really burn. As a result, I would not use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else either.
