If you travel from Interlaken Ost (which is most likely to be the case), catch the train to Lauterbrunnen and change trains in Wilderwil (just one stop later). The trip from Wilderwil to Schynige Platte takes about 55 minutes but it is worth any minute of it! Spectacular views of mountains, both Brienz and Thun Lakes. Make sure to pay a visit to the Alpine Garden as well. I would advise to buy the tickets ahead of time as it could get really crowded.
