Fun story: My wife deliberately parked her bicycle whose tire had suddenly gone flat in this church’s bicycle rack thinking that, of all places, a church would be a kind and safe place to leave the bike until it could be repaired. Three days later I came to collect the bike to bring it in for the needed repair and it had been chained to the bicycle rack with a note regarding the private status of the parking area (enclosed). I called the phone number on the note and was told I could come back a little bit later when the caretaker (who I was speaking to) would be there. I came back at that time and was very polite. The man wanted it very clearly understood that what my wife had done was unacceptable, and said “next time we’ll just have the police seize it.” I said “you do know that there’s a flat tire, yes?” pointing to it. He said he didn’t know that, but “how would you like it if I parked my bike in your private garden?” I chuckled and wished him a good weekend. I sincerely hope this isn’t the minister of this church, but even if it isn’t, I question his alignment with Christian conduct.
