I had the pleasure of sailing on board s.y. Kali, and her skipper Bene twice. The first was on the 2018 RORC Transatlantic Race, were we sailed from Lanzarote to Grenada in the Caribbean. The second trip was a second transatlantic crossing, bringing Kali back from USA to the Azores, May - June 2019. Bene is an excellent skipper. He knows his stuff (obviously) but most important he is always cheerful and calm. His great sailing skills combined with his great communication makes the crew on board feel calm, safe and confident. Not once during out 18days trip was there any negative vibes or yells on board - something extremely rare if you consider our poor communication when we are on land, or my experience from shorter offshore or coastal trips and races back home. He provides proper on board experience helping all sailors develop, each according to his/her abilities and limits. He makes excellent breakfast and teas, and you will win his heart if you know any good jokes, especially those that involve elephants ;) Irene on the other hand is this wonderful woman keeping Bene and the whole organisation grounded. She kept all our family members well informed while on the transatIantic race, and was always available to answer their questions and worries. I enjoyed our conversation during our night watches while on the second transatlantic bringing Kali closer to Europe - she can act as the \mother\ of the crew, and she always has a bright smile on her face. They are an excellent duo, Kali is a very enjoyable, seaworthy, sturdy Happy vessel, and I cant wait to get the opportunity to sail on her, Bene and Irene again. Best regards, Kyriakos (Kyri)!
Fantastic learning experience taking the powerboat lessons! My instructor, Bene, was outstanding at explaining the seamanship concepts, was extremely patient and super friendly towards me, as complete beginner to the boating world. Exceeded my expectations and extremely professional program. Passed my boat drivers licence exam first time!! Highly recommend this program to anyone who is just starting out. Great way to learn new skills and experience Basel on the Rhine.
Das Gute bei Clauberg Yachting und der Kali ist eigentlich, dass das Schiff alles bietet - und das eigentlich fast das ganze Jahr: Cruising, Training, Regatten, Langfahrt wie etwa ein Transat. Ich habe alle Varianten mitgemacht plus Stopps für Reparaturen und das immer mit neuen, guten Erfahrungen und Erkenntnissen. Die Kali wurde Jahr für Jahr immer weiter verbessert - der Vergleich zu Beginn des Einsatzes der Yacht bei Clauberg Yachting ist nicht zu übersehen. Ich starte mit einem guten Gefühl zum Transat nach den Azoren.
War schon mehrere Male auf der Kali (Beneteau First 47.7), jedes Mal sehr schöne Erfahrung, seglerisch wie auch menschlich. Bene hat jede Menge Erfahrung (normale Törns, Atlantiküberquerungen, Regattieren etc.) und kann diese super weitergeben und auch unterrichten. Und Segel trimmen kann man auf der Kali bis zur Perfektion, um jeden Knoten Geschwindigkeit rauszuholen. Und es macht auch mega Spass, mit der Kali in schönen Häfen Manöver zu üben, gerade noch mit der klassischen starren Welle, love it! Sehr empfehlenswert, einen Törn bei Clauberg Yachting zu buchen!
Wo lernt man sich besser kennen als auf einer Atlantiküberquerung. Ich war dabei und es war ein grandioses Erlebnis. Meine besten Noten für Organisation, Ausrüstung, Sicherheit, Führung der Crew.
Bei Bene merkt man sofort, dass er Segler aus Leidenschaft ist. Diese Begeisterung kann er sehr gut an seine SchülerInnen/MitseglerInnen weitergeben. Zudem ist er ein super Koch und Gastgeber auf seiner Kali. Ich kann einen Törn mit ihm nur empfehlen!
Gute Fahrlehrer auch fürs Meer, kann ich allen die aufs Wasser wollen empfehlen
