I've had a great Time at Chillout. They but an emphasis on teaching you Paragliding from the Ground up. They even give you a first glimpse at the great Pragliding Community and how to be a part of this community. I learned so much and will be returning for further education!

ChillOut is a perfect paragliding school for those keen to learn more than just the basics. Teaching is very individual. Although the day topic is shared, instructors challenge everyone according to their progress. Every instructor teaches from differently, which also helps to progress faster. For theory, ChillOut has a plethora of study materials that go again deeper than just to pass the exam. As students, we had the responsibility to decide if it is flyable or not. As a foreigner, I appreciated pre-flight briefings/theory sessions in both German (depending on students either Swiss or High German) and English. So maybe the only warning: if you are very adventurous, do not forget to assess what the instructors say, as they can push you to the limits ;).

Despite living in Zürich, I decided to do my paragliding training in Interlaken due to several strong recommendations I received about the quality of teaching from friends. Things I particularly appreciated: 1. Training goes well beyond just passing the exam. At Chillout the aim is to create competent pilots, rather than just helping people to pass the exam. By the end of training, passing the exam is just a formality. 2. Engaged, and thoughtful teaching. Due to small class sizes, you build up close relationships with the instructors. They know each student's experience, and have a good sense of how far to push you (safely) by giving you fun challenges. 3. Included in the brevet-course are cool events like ski and fly, hike and fly, mountain hut stays, school weekends in other flying sites, full moon flying. These events are pure pleasure, and give you a taste of the possibilities after the license. 4. Mid-week teaching. Mid week teaching is something special with Chillout when group sizes are typically quite small. This enables instructors to do very special days where you may do a flying safari, a spontaneous hike and fly or ski/fly lesson or learn new techniques not typically covered in normal school days. 5. Many theory courses included in the price of the course. You can attend meteo and airspace courses for free. 6. Instructors strive to keep things interesting. One instructor knew about my interest in light-weight equipment and brought along some smaller lightweight wings for me to try without me asking. This was really thoughtful. 7. Community Building. When you are a Chillout student, you get access to active online communities where you can plan flights together, discuss meteorology/weather or just share fun flying stories. In addition to completing my brevet course with Chillout, I have also completed a further education training. This was also excellent. All in all, I give the highest recommendation for Chillout.

Wonderful paragliding school. They have experienced, high quality instructors with multiple gorgeous sites in the area they take you to. They're great about taking foreign guest pilots in the school (100 / person) or as a guide (500, a little more with more people.) They also have a solid course to get your license (7500) and a gear shop to buy or rent equipment. Definitely a great place to go if you're looking to fly the Alps, especially for thermal and cross-country flying.

Weiter so Chillout.
