What an incredible farmstay and truely memorable experience. Set high in an alpine valley amongst peaks of the Swiss Alps the locations is second only to perhaps the Berghotel Faulhorn where we stayed the previous night. In early August it was possible to hike from Faulhorn to Alp Tschingelfeld via Bachalpsee. The hike down into the farmstay valley (the track forks off before reaching Hagelseewli) was steep but possible with large backpacks for semi-fit people, but you need to keep a close eye on the track markers. Similarly the hike out of the valley (from Alp Tschingelfeld towards the saddle between Wildgarst and Schwarzhorn) is steep (uphill for 2 hours) and track markers can be easily missed when foggy. Our room at the Alp Tschingelfeld was rustic yet warm and inviting much like our hosts, a family of cheese makers who made us feel very welcome. We were shown the art of cheese making from culturing the milk to forming the curds into wheels and salt washing the aged wheels. The highlight was spending meals times with the family in their cozy dinning room located next to the cheese making rooms. Fresh made butter on bread, three types of aged cheese, salami, fresh yoghurt and warm whole milk collected that morning to make an incredible coffee or hot chocolate! This was an incredible all around travel experience I'd recommend to anyone, an absolute gem in the Alps.

Wunderschöne Alp. Jederzeit wine Wanderung wert. Der Übergang nach Fist oat traumhaft. Gutes Schuhwerk ist zu empfehlen.
