Had lunch there, outside. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. I really liked the food and its presentation too.

Restaurant is small and packed. Once they assign you a table even other tables are available, you could not request to change table as the elderly waiter said they were all reserved and put the reserved sign immediately. By the time we finished lunch after one hour later no reserved tables are occupied. The Duck breast was cooked too rare and we cannot chew and swallow it. However, the Sea beam and vegetables were good though. May be it was close to tourist spot so it is kind of over priced.

We were there for lunch and were lucky to get a table since it is a small restaurant with very few tables. I would suggest a reservation. The restaurant is open all day, and the kitchen as well. Since we have never been to the restaurant, the food were excellent. Surprisingly good. We were satisfied with the service. The staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely return. Vielen Dank. Servis war unkompliziert und ausgesprochen freundlich.

The location of Brasseria Barengraben is great. It is right at the bridge that leads you to the old city of Bern. The food selection is extensive and the plates are delicious . We had a steak tartare, which tasted great but in my opinion had too much tomato sauce. The vibe there is definitely worth it.

Excellent and classic French brasserie. Would suggest ordering French dishes and French wine, that is after all what they do best. Excellent appetizers, mains and desserts. Located across from the Bärengraben, a main tourist attraction in Bern. If you’re a tourist looking for a wider selection of food that caters to tourist tastes, go across the road to tram depot. Do not order fajitas from this Brasserie, ask the server for suggestions and you will not be disappointed. Do not expect chatty and upbeat American style service from French restaurants, expect a high level of understanding about dishes and pairings.

Definitely not worth the price. We were 2 people in an empty restaurant. Waited 30 min for our dishes. My fish was tasty but the potatoes were raw inside. I sent them back, the waiter did no apology for the kitchen. They came back 10min later, cooked but no flavor whatsoever, taste of paper. My friend had the “tête de veau”, 4 pieces of meat, mostly pieces of radish. Flavor was ok, but not worth the wait or the price. Very disappointed.
