Came early before kitchen opened at 6-had drinks while waiting. Beer is excellent and fairly cheap. Service was good--lots of locals here as noted. A beautiful night in Basel. The food was excellent. Apps: toasted pretzel with ham and cheese and meatballs very good but the Wiener schnitzel and pork knuckle outstanding.

Super nice place! We had dinner here and i ordered the vegetarian tartar. Within minutes they asked how it was. I said it was not how i expected it to be. They offered a new dish immediately. Great service, fast and kind. We will come back for sure.

Your topics are a local beer (micro brewery), a classic workers and around the corner pub (Restaurant), 5 different atmospheres in one location, food with different twists from Basel, beer in a keg or a fish (really unique, never seen that one anywhere else in the world) so also bring friends, service with speed and the classic beer garden twist, look no further. Between the close bye flowing father Rheine, the typical Rheingasse and the Fischerstube, there is a symbiosis which you learn to love, latest after your first “fish full of beer” .

Decent place for beer and meals. The summer ale was quite good and refreshing. The sausage platter and the snails were also great.

We turned up without a reservation and they found us a space on a sharing table. I told them I fancied a side as a main, maybe with cheese. They made it happen. Great service, rustic but tasty food and a price that doesn't break the bank.

Was introduced to this local Swiss bier pub by a local years ago and it continues to not disappoint on their craft bier and very traditional Swiss food (Tostitos was excellent, salmon was over done). Try their Ueli Dunkel
