The Association for Critical and Interdisciplinary Thinking (ACIT) connects motivated and open-minded people with interdisciplinary interests. ACIT serves as an intellectual network between students from different universities and different academic backgrounds. We provide our members with a diverse program consisting of interdisciplinary debates and discussions, public talks, excursions, social events, sport activities and introductory classes on academic topics held by invited experts and members with advanced education. Our key projects include ACIT Digital, a virtual reality platform for scientific discussions, and the publication of the Journal for Critical and Interdisciplinary Thinking, which combines excellent articles written by students and makes them available in comprehensive form to our members. ACIT also offers free consulting services for startups and organisations with promising social impact. The ACIT network has received support from different institutions as well as professors and politicians who regard ACIT as a valuable contribution to academic networks and the promotion of critical thinking alike, such as the University of Zurich, the Swiss Study Foundation, Oxford University’s 80’000 hours, reatch, the German philosophy association, different high-IQ organisations, and the ETH debating club. Our guiding principles include the development of critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity and human equality. ACIT memberships are open to everyone, and we regard differences in personal backgrounds as invaluable enrichments and opportunities to broaden one’s mind. It is thus also evident that ACIT neither acquires a unified political position nor a clear ideology, and we are proud to have attracted and mutually inspired dozens of highly diverse people over the years.
